Z8; ELECTRIC SAILING

Flandria exists 100 years. Since 1922, shipping company Flandria has been the leading shipping company in Antwerp. Especially on the occasion of the centenary, shipping company Flandria has started a cooperation with the Dutch shipping company De Zilvermeeuw. During the Tall Ships races 2022, where sustainability is central, shipping company Flandria will more than likely add the 'Z8' to its offerings.

The Z8 is a real showpiece and the cream of the crop for our top clients. The ship was developed from a sustainable point of view. The designer has taken into account the design of the hull, the choice of electric engines, flushing toilets with outside water and using the residual heat from engines to heat the ship. In the summer, on the contrary, the outside water is used to cool the ship.

The interior architect chose a modern yet warm look. Nice sitting areas and a functional space have also been created. For receptions and, walking dinners we limit the capacity of the Z8 to 150 people, for seated dinners to 100 people.

Although the CCR2 engines of the Z8 already comply with the current emissions legislation, the ambition is to reduce the harmful emissions of the Z8 to the maximum extent and to sail maximum green. With the Solfic MPAT system, particulate matter from the engines is reduced by 97%. It also reduces NOx (nitrogen oxides) emissions by approximately 80%. Finally, unburned hydrocarbons (HCs and CO) are reduced by up to 90%.

The entire ship features a very atmospheric LED lighting , a vestry and air conditioning.
